the Serious Organised Crime Agency [the Serious Organised Crime Agency] (abbr SOCA)
(in Britain) a police organization of specialists in different areas that was set up to fight organised crime such as drug trafficking (= buying and selling illegal drugs), people smuggling (= bringing people illegally into a country) and money laundering (= moving money made from illegal activities so it can not be found) at a national and international level. It works together with police forces and other government agencies.
